High Lord Emperor Garren sat admiring the view from the palace tower. His view over the city factory was quite exquisite. He was currently viewing the latest reports from the frontlines; so far the war was going well, because very few knew it was underway. Capitol forces had probed most of the empires defences and had actively attack shipping routes belonging to the Union and Tenebrae… however the Union had annoyingly struck back hard and destroyed the staging ground at Salone IV. No matter Garren had a plan to respond. He laughed to himself, Capitol was far stronger than it had ever been, Scar though dead had been replaced and Garren had filled the role being his second in command. He turned from the window and picked up a data slate, he then walked to the elevator; he wished to convene with his admirals. As he entered the elevator his two hardly noticeable guards entered with him, joining another few in the elevator itself. He was surrounded by 6 men, all the most highly trained men in the region. Garren knew he was untouchable and so studied the Salone attack carefully. As the elevator descended Garren felt the temperature drop by a few degrees, probably that damn temp control again, fixed by slaves… he would have then shot. Suddenly he felt the lights go out and looked up. His guards were not there anymore, just pitch blackness. The lift stopped and he felt fear.
“So this is Scars more famed successor…” Came a wispy voice, Garren looked around but couldn’t see in the darkness. He was sure there was something else in the spacious lift.
“I would of thought you would be… more than I expected… You are very disappointing” The voice said again. Garren plucked up some courage.
“Who are you! Show yourself! Do you know who I am? I am High Lord Emperor Garren of Capi…” Garren was stopped before he could end the sentence, before he knew it his throat was being choked and he was pinned to the elevator wall.
“Guar..ds… Guards…” He spluttered but not loud enough to be heard. His eyes widened as a green glow suffused the room and the dark figure before him revealed itself, a massive gauntlet round Garrens throat.
“I know who you are whelp! You are nothing! A deranged human wanting power, nothing more, you think your powerful? Let me show you what real power is!” The being pulsed its hand and power entered Garren, he convulsed and flailed as his body went into a fit like state, finally it subsided and Garren now was crying, he had also pissed himself.
“Wha… what are you!?” He managed. The being laughed.
“Your worst nightmare!” It shouted.
“What do you want… with me?” Garren spluttered. The being laughed.
“I want you to do exactly what I say” Garren shook his head finding a bit more defiance “No…” The figure chuckled.
“Like you have a choice, Son of Scar” The being surged more power into Garren and the man’s eyes flared with despair as the screaming started. Too bad his people couldn’t see him now… after the screaming and convulsing stopped the being released his grip on the leader. He lay broken on the floor, unable to move, he looked a lot paler and the being cocked his head to one side.
“Rise” The being commanded and Garren rose without question.
“Here is what I want you to do filth, I am your master now, you do what I say and I won’t give you the same fate as Scar. I want you to ignore the Union and the other empires, for now, I want you to prepare your fleets and attack the Immortal Empire. They took your slave grounds when they invaded Cerabia, You will take that land back. Do you understand?” The being said harshly.
Garren stood, motionless, his eyes had glazed and his head snapped up after the creature stopped talking. “Yes master, as you so wish” The creature nodded and then disappeared, a moment later the room returned to normal with the guards standing around Garren data slate in hand, like nothing happened.
The admirals would be made aware of Capitols new grand plan.
